          What is Equine Equine OxyShot®

Equine OxyShot® is a proprietary formulation using CSO2™ (Charged Stabilised Oxygen) technology and consists of a pH-balanced liquid electrolyte solution of deionised water, bioavailable oxygen and sea salt, which all work, together to form a highly concentrated stable form of oxygen that easily dissolves into the blood stream when ingested.

Increasing the concentration of oxygen in the blood helps to oxidise the lactic acid which builds up during strenuous exercise and stress. This enables improved recovery from exertion and a greater ability to cope with stress and anxiety.

Such features make Equine OxyShot® an invaluable partner for all kinds of equine training.

          • Equine OxyShot® contains a 'super concentrated' form of Oxygen
          • Equine OxyShot® provides an instant calming effect on your horse, reducing the impact of stress and anxiety thereby increasing concentration and performance.
          • Equine OxyShot® provides muscles with oxygen to enable them to recover faster from exercise.

What is Equine OxyShot® used for?

Riders and trainers who use Equine OxyShot® have seen the effect it has on their horses' weak areas:

          • Horses who BLOW have recovered faster
          • Horses who LACK STAMINA have gained stamina
          • Training muscles with higher oxygen levels achieves a noticeable improved fitness level and increases the ability of the horse when under stress from travel or competition. Improved recovery is also evident.

          Why is Oxygen so important?

          • 1
          • During times of stress or strenuous exercise, the body’s demand for oxygen increases in order to allow muscle cells to respire and release adequate amounts of energy through the oxidation of sugar (aerobic respiration)1
          • 2
          • Toxins in the atmosphere or those released from bacteria and viruses also demand the body’s supply of oxygen in order to metabolise and eliminate their harmful products. Oxygen is also consumed by the immune system when the body experiences physical trauma, as it is needed for metabolism involved in the inflammatory response
          • 3
          • When the body cannot obtain enough oxygen, cells begin to respire anaerobically so that they can still provide a source of energy. However, this process of energy release in the absence of oxygen causes the production of lactic acid, which builds up in tissues and may cause many problems such as fatigue, muscle soreness and acidosis2,3.
          • 4
          • Once oxygen becomes available again, the lactic acid requires catabolising (or oxidising) to carbon dioxide and water3, which are less toxic to the body. Oxygen is also needed to replenish that which has been borrowed from other internal systems, such as the lungs and haemoglobin.
          • The best way to optimise overall health is to supply all of the body’s cells with oxygen. The more oxygen in the body, the more energy can be produced from respiration, and the more efficiently any toxic materials can be eliminated. Aerobic respiration is vital for metabolism, circulation, breathing, digestion and excretion. Oxygen keeps the blood free from waste build-up and allows the body to rebuild itself and maintain a strong immune system.

          How Equine OxyShot® works

The technology, named Charged Stabilised Oxygen (CSO2™), provides a highly concentrated liquid form of oxygen, which is immediately absorbed upon ingestion. This concentrated, stable form of oxygen assists the body's cells to respire aerobically to produce adequate amounts of energy or exercise or for dealing with stressful situations (see below), and to maintain the optimum concentrations of carbon dioxide and lactic acid in the blood.

Increasing oxygen levels in the blood leads to a better performance and improved general wellbeing. Other oxygen technologies rely on chemical processes to release oxygen in the body, and result in potentially toxic pHs, meaning that only tiny amounts can be administered safely. CSO2™ results in a stable, pH-balanced (around the same as blood) solution which is readily absorbed and safe to use at large concentrations1.
